Happy Birthday Thanks

Hi everyone! I wanted to post a thank you for all the wonderful and sweet birthday wishes so many of you sent my way!!! It was a ton of fun and I got a kick out of so many sweet and happy thoughts. 🙂

On top of all those lovely wishes, I had a wonderful 40th birthday party at home. My sister came up to visit and we had yummy stuff 3 days in a row.

I thought I should record myself on my 40th year of life (despite how much I detest having my picture taken) so I had my sister take some casual shots. Never a good idea….LOL I just hate that I don’t look like I do in my head…LOL I have a totally different picture of myself in my head, but I had to share…this is truly me. LOL 

My sister was trying to give me directions…look this way, open your eyes, don’t put your chin down…. hmmmm, not sure it worked. LOL My hair is normally curly too, so you get me with almost-straight-and-way-too-big hair, trying to keep my eyes open in the sun with make-up dripping in them…still, we had fun! 🙂

And I am trying to be grateful for the pictures that reminds me how old I have become and how much I need to quit eating chocolate cake—-see, the years are getting to me already…one should always eat chocolate cake. LOL

The other little sister came the next day and brought me a shirt as a present….but it ended up being a funny story. Remember I am a very curvy and plus-size woman and my nephews designed a shirt for my birthday that says “Reading Rocks” (strategically placed right across the front)….well, my sweet mother thought it said, “Reading RAcks”!!! hehe This little humorous comment spawned a whole series of librarian jokes: “Librarians have the best racks” and “Wanna play with my stacks…” It only went downhill from there, but it was hilarious…well, maybe, you had to be there…bwwaaahhhaaaa

All and all, I had a great time with my family and was blessed by a delightful, love-filled time from my online friends and family….and chocolate cake of course. 🙂

PS: This is my sweet mom….I wonder where I get my laugh from. LOL
